To help you catch up on all things Chevy, here’s what you need to know and what to expect for the month of October.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month:
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and to show support for the American Cancer Society, Chevrolet is raising awareness during the NASCAR Cups in Talladega and Martinsville by contributing $350 for every lap completed by their specially-themed pink Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. Combined, they plan to raise a maximum of $50,000 during the three NASCAR Cup Series races. Chevy will also be hosting a number of breast cancer survivors at the Talladega track where they can enjoy an afternoon filled with high speed races. Chevrolet also plans to donate $5 for every hashtag #WeDriveFor on Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok up to $110,000. This will be the 11th consecutive year Chevy has teamed up with the American Cancer Society.
Corvette Z06
Chevy released a teaser for the All-New Corvette Z06 back in July, but just recently dropped a date for when customers can finally see the big reveal. Keep your eyes peeled on October 26th to get your first look at the All-New Corvette Z06!
Inventory Shortage:
New vehicle inventory is still low at our stores, as well as for dealerships across the nation. This is due to a semiconductor chip shortage that began as a result of a nationwide halt on car manufacturing during COVID-19, as well as an increased demand for chips to be built for personal electronics. The good news is, Chevrolet is keeping the assembly line moving and is still manufacturing new vehicles. Until the necessary chips become available, vehicles are placed in storage and are sent out to dealerships once complete. Restoring production back to normal will take some time, but we hope to better meet production demands on a month-to-month basis. In the meantime, visit our expert service department for all your service needs, or check out our certified pre-owned inventory!
Chevy Bolt EV Battery Production Resumes:
Remedies to the hardware and software of both the Bolt EV & EUV batteries have been made to prevent the rare circumstance of them catching on fire. GM has implemented a comprehensive plan that ensures the safety of driving, charging, and parking the Bolt EV & EUV and is aggressively working with LG to ship the replacement battery modules in mid-October. The leading cause for these defects is known, and LG has implemented new manufacturing improvements that can give Bolt EV and EUV drivers confidence in their safety. Notifications will be sent out to customers when their replacement battery modules are available, and the new batteries will include an extended battery 8-year/100,000-mile warranty.
